Tamale based music trio, Deensi has picked up their maiden national music recognition as Traditional artiste of the year in the Vodafone Ghana Music industry award Night.
At a ceremony held in Accra over the weekend and attended by many showbiz pundit and actors. Deensi beat fellow Northern artiste with international recognition, Sherifa Gunu who has ever won the same award years back to pick their first ever national award.
Abdul Rauf a.k.a Shocker, a member of the group expressed their heartfelt appreciation and joy to all ensundry for the support given to the group in an exclusive interview on the drive time show (Diamond City Jam) hosted by Original Soundboy.
Other showbiz and music industry players as well as fellow artistes in Tamale, including Abdul Rashid Kawawa, Abada Black Shanty among others turned to social media facebook to congratulate their colleague on their achievement.
Deensi later presented the award to Nyab Dakpema for his blessings and also planning to stage a thank you concert for their fans in Tamale.
