GUTA -Tamale and NUTAG-Tamale starts a dialogue on Diamond 93.7 fm to resolve retail trading brouhaha.

The brouhaha over foreign traders engaged in retailing has been a bone of contention in some parts of the country for some weeks now; this triggered a press release by the Tamale branch of GUTA, giving authorities a two week ultimatum to take action on foreign retail traders or they will hit the street in demonstration.

To prevent attacks on foreign traders as witness in other parts of the country, Diamond City Jam (Drive Time Show) of Diamond 93.7 Fm Hosted by Samed Gaida Original Soundboy engaged the two parties in a dialogue live on air to help resolve the issue and prevent any form of lawlessness. 

Both parties where able to agree on issues and promised the public a peace resolution of the issue.

As delegates of Musicians Union of Ghana prepare to go to the polls on the 26^th June 2019 to elect executives to manage the affairs of the union, many of the delegates are pledging their support for Abena Ruthy as 2^nd vice president because of her impeccable track records and down to earth personality.

As part of her regional campaign tour, she visited the northern regional branches of Musiga including the Tamale branch. The regional executives where excited, gave her a befitting welcome and assure her their vote. 

In a brief meeting with delegates, madam RUTH BENNY WOOD aka Abena Ruthy share her vision, including how she is going to assist the regional branches of Musiga stand on their feet by helping them generating internal revenue to support their activities.

‘ I will use my professional expertise to make Musiga attractive to all musicians in Ghana, I will also bring wellbeing to all, for the union’s mission of educating and equipping, {the Ghanaian musician to be self-reliant, creative and industrious} achieved’ she added.

Delegates confessed that, they have never encountered a selfless aspirant in their entire role as Musiga delegates and assured her their full support.

Madam Abena Ruthy also donated some items including musical instruments to the branches.

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF SPOUSAL ABUSE ON DIAMOND 93.7 fm - AIRED EVERY TUESDAY AT 4:45PM.

A common cycle of abuse begins to take hold once domestic violence starts in a relationship. Your partner apologizes, you lower your guard, and over time, the violence rears its ugly head once again. Understanding the signs of domestic violence and causes of domestic abuse are crucial to breaking this domestic violence cycle.

Hence, the introduction of a segment on Diamond fm drive time (Diamond City Jam) to sensitize and educate the public on the dangers of spousal abuse and how to collectively contributing in the breaking of the cycle.

 Miss Sophia Atadana is a spousal abuse activist and the founder of Bendoweh foundation. She has helped several victims of domestic violence and offers her professional services as a resource person on the program.

2017 Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards (NEA) launched in Bolga

The 2nd Edition of the Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards (NEA) was launched on Friday, January 27th, 2017 at Akayet Hotel in the Upper East region of Ghana.

Northern-Ghana Entertainment Awards is an initiative put together by Smile Multimedia in collaboration with the various stakeholders in the entertainment arts, tourism and culture to recognize and honor some distinguished personalities who have positively contributed to the steady growth of the entertainment industry in Northern Ghana.

The annual event that started in 2016 saw many Northern Musicians including Fancy Gadam as the Overall Artist of the year, Film makers, Sports and Media personalities picking up awards in the various categories of the award scheme.
Addressing a fully packed hall of Musicians, Movie Producers, Actors and Actresses, Sports personalities, Media Personal, the Board Chairman of he Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards, Alhassan Abdul Latif disclosed a
15 member selection committee, a nine member board and a 37 member academy with representation across the three regions of the north will consult and nominate persons to be honored and awarded in 17 Music Award Categories, 7 Film Award Categories, 8 Media Categories, 3 Sports category and 6 Merit Awards.
He gave a breakdown of the 2017 Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards Categories as follows;

In sharing the activities of the awards scheme in the three regions of the North, Mr.  Alhassan notes "the Nominees Jam for the Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards is expected to take place is the Upper West regional capital, Wa whiles the main awards night ceremony will take place in Tamale at the Radach Conference Center on Saturday 1st of April 2017 at 8:00pm."
He also made a clarion call on all interested participants of the 2017 NEA to pick up their nominations forms at the offices of Smile Multimedia Agency in Tamale,  those in Bolgatanga at the office of Moab Events Media Ltd and in WA at Siltra Events or visit www.smilemultimediaonline.com to download the form for free. Deadline for submission of nomination form is the 17th of February 2017

Participants at the launch expressed their satisfaction in the Awards ceremony but however made an appeal to the organizers to ensure transparency in choosing a winner for each category.

I WOULDN’T VOTE THIS YEAR SAY’S EL

This year’s election has engrossed celebrities from all corners of the country publicly proclaiming their support for the two main political parties. But the question remains… are all these celebrities registered voters or eligible to vote on December 7th.

Elom Adablah (born 28 June 1983), better known by his stage name EL confessed to Original Soundboy on Diamond City Jam how he will not be in Ghana during this years election because he failed to register as a voter the last time although he strongly support one of the two main parties in Ghana.

According to him, that is why he has not publicly announced his support.

The “koko” hit maker spoke about his one Ghana concert and Ghanaian politics and the need to maintain the current peace the country is enjoying.
